How to Create an RTF Document From Microsoft Office & Word
Many Microsoft Office 2010 products, such as Word, PowerPoint and Publisher, directly support the Rich Text Format, which is compatible with a wide range of products. Some Office products, such as Excel and OneNote, cannot create RTF files without Word acting as an intermediary. Saving OneNote pages in Word's DOCX format enables Word to convert the file into RTF format. Similarly, Word can directly open Excel spreadsheets and then save the resulting document as an RTF file.
Saving OneNote as DOCX
- Click "File," then "Save As."
- Click "Page" from the Save Current section to save the current page. Alternatively, click "Section" to save all the pages from the current section tab in a single DOCX document.
- Click "Word Document (*.docx)" from the Select Format section and then "Save As."
- Type a name for the file and choose a save location.
- Click "Save" to save it as a DOCX file. You can open the DOCX file in Word and save it as an RTF document from there by following instruction in the third section.
